While Prime Minister holds Kisan Samvad, SP organizes bonfire meetings with farmers – India news

In a one-day state-wide campaign, leaders and workers of the Samajwadi Party on Friday addressed farmers to express the party’s solidarity with their ongoing protests against the three central laws. SP workers plan to engage farmers in villages around bonfires to discuss their concerns.

The day of the event coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Kisan Samvad” or a dialogue with farmers, trying to dispel their apprehensions about agricultural laws that have led to a protracted protest by farmers on the borders of the national capital of Delhi .

SP President Akhilesh Yadav asked MPs in charge of the party, MLA, MLC, former lawmakers and office officials to go to the villages to participate in the Kisan Ghera program and explain that the SP has “always supported” their cause. .

The name of the awareness program, Kisan Ghera, means broadcasting the small gatherings of peasants the party workers hope to organize around bonfires.

The party has released a list of 132 prominent leaders who will hold talks with farmers in as many villages across the state.

On the eve of the event on Thursday, Akhilesh Yadav said that never before have farmers been treated so unfairly and faced an injustice as under the current BJP government at the Center. He said the BJP government “didn’t keep” a single promise made to farmers and introduced three anti-farmer laws to make matters worse.

Akhilesh even called PM Modi’s Kisan Samvad and Kisan Samman Nidhi distribution program scheduled for Friday an “insult” to farmers.

“The BJP government insults the farmers, who are protesting on the streets for their rights with the nominal money of ‘Kisan Samman’. The government wants farmers to suffer huge losses due to black laws (agricultural laws). In its arrogance of power, the BJP also insults the food that farmers put on the plates of every citizen of the country, ”he tweeted in Hindi.
