The new Google Pay for the US launched almost a month ago in early access and is now getting a simple dark theme on Android.
Upon launch, the service’s new intertwined logo is briefly shown against a bright background before switching to gray depending on the system theme. There is no in-app switch to set independently.
Dark mode applies to the main sheet and the bottom bar. The latter component sees a lighter blue accent for the current section’s icon and text. Compared to the sheet above, a darker shade of gray is also used to provide better visual separation.
The blue upper section remains unchanged, showing the cover and other usage tips. The dark theme extends to settings after tapping the profile picture and the search experience.
Version 119.1.4 of the new Google Pay carries the dark theme and is widely available this morning via the Play Store.
