The 74-year-old succumbs to Covid-19; The MOPH reports 138 recoveries on December 25

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 129 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 138 people have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 140,542.
Of the 129 new cases, 98 are from communities and 31 from travelers returning from abroad.
The ministry also announced the death of a 74-year-old, bringing today’s total death toll to 244.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving the necessary health care based on their health status.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases registered in Qatar is 142,734 and there are 1,948 active cases under treatment.
4,097 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (8,537 tests in total) bringing the total of tests carried out so far to 1,215,910 tests.
There are 27 cases of hospital admissions in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of patients in hospital to 208.
Three patients have been admitted to the ICU in the past 24 hours and so 23 people continue to receive medical treatment in the ICU.
As COVID-19 restrictions are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important that everyone plays their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
– Adherence to physical spacing
– Avoid close contact with others, crowded places and confined enclosed spaces where other people gather
– Wear a face mask
– Wash your hands regularly
