Six months have passed since actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away and the three agencies, CBI, NCB and ED, continue to investigate the case. While the CBI and ED are looking into suicide and misappropriation of funds, respectively, the Narcotics Control Bureau has been investigating the drug point of view that came to prominence with the actor’s disappearance. actors such as Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal and Rakul Preet Singh among others were called in for questioning.
Now, according to a latest report from Mumbai Mirror, the NCB investigating the Bollywood-drug link has gone one step further and sent 85 gadgets to the Directorate of Forensic Sciences (DFS) in Gandhinagar. These gadgets include high-end phones from celebrities such as Deepika, Shraddha, Sara, Rhea Chakraborty, and Arjun Rampal among others. Gujarat forensic experts have initiated data recovery from these gadgets which also includes laptops and pen drives. And the data extracted from 30 cell phones was sent to the NCB, Mirror reported.
These phones are thoroughly analyzed by the team as they recover deleted videos, chat messages and photos from these phones. Considering these are high-end phones, forensics should have gotten more tools to perform the recovery. The NCB is also confirming these recovered data with its communications to the agency.
In addition to the data recovery, the NCB has also sent about 25 drug samples that have so far been seized in the Mumbai raids.
