Singer Sona Mohapatra returned fire to a Twitter user for dragging her father into an attack on her. Sona had shared a photo of her father, Navy veteran Dilip Mohapatra, wearing his 1971 India-Pakistan war medals. “My dad @dilipmo wearing 1971 war medals here, Indian Navy”, he had written on Twitter.
The Twitter user seemed to have taken Sona’s point of view and staying on the #MeToo movement and commented on the photo: “I hope he’s not a rapist, because you find all the men ‘rapists’.”
Sona called the woman for making such a comment and wrote: “This ‘proud Indian’ (non-patriotic chauvinist) MRA (men’s rights activist) is happy to put: 1) Words in his mouth that I have never uttered Unlike her, I have healthy loving relationships with men and I don’t need to suck them to make them love me. 2) Tag my naval war veteran father like this. “

Earlier this month, Sona said she received a barrage of comments about her new music video – Heere Heere – doubting her #MeToo claims based on her clothes. “Lots of comments on my latest social media music video tell me how they don’t believe my @IndiaMeToo calls considering I wear such vulgar clothes and I’m probably ‘lying’ and maybe the kind of woman who likes men to misbehave with separated her from other BS, “he wrote on Twitter.
In the past, Sona has accused singers Anu Malik and Kailash Kher, among others, of sexual harassment. Earlier this year, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, she revealed how after calling them out, she was the ‘first to be punished’ and asked to leave the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, di which he was judge.
