Shefali Shah says she “didn’t even reach a certain age” before being turned into a typography: “I played Akshay Kumar’s mother when I was about 28-30 years old”

Shefali Shah, who was only 20 when she played a middle-aged mother on the popular Hasratein show, said she was typed early in her career. He added that he hasn’t even “reached a certain age” for that to happen.

In 2005, Shefali played Amitabh Bachchan’s wife in Waqt: The Race Against Time, and Akshay Kumar played their son. He was only 28-30 years old at the time.

Speaking to The Times of India, Shefali said: “I was portrayed in the role of a mother very early in life. I haven’t even reached a certain age. I was 20 years old. I did a show where I played the mother of a 15 year old girl, I was 20 when I played a 45 year old mom. And then, when I was about 28-30, I played Akshay Kumar’s mother. So I became typecast very early, if I wasn’t even supposed to reach a certain age. “He joked:” According to screen time, I’m probably 133 or something. “

Shefali said she turned down many projects because the roles didn’t turn her on enough. “There were years where I kept saying no to work because it was just so unfair. And then Juice happened. And then there was Once Again, a very sweet and kind love story. And then there was Delhi Crime. And all three of them put me in the center of the frame. So it’s really open to me and I’m finally doing the kind of job I want. “

Most recently, Shefali was seen as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the Netflix series Delhi Crime, based on the aftermath of Delhi’s 2012 gang rape. Last month, the show won the International Emmy for Best Drama Series.
