Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphones have begun receiving the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11, as per report. While the report did not list the features that have been implemented, it suggests Samsung likely brought an optimized UI design and the December 2020 Android security patch with the latest update. Last week, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G phones in Russia would get the update. In India, Samsung has launched the 4G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE smartphone.
According to a report from SamMobile, the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 for the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G carries the firmware version G781BXXU1BTL4. Samsung’s announced roadmap for Egypt did not specifically mention that Galaxy S20 FE (4G and 5G) will receive the update, but other Galaxy S20 series phones globally are expected to receive the update in January or February next year.
The SamMobile report did not mention the countries where the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G phones are receiving the update. It also doesn’t list the changes the update has made, however, it’s safe to say that the 5G variant should get the same changes as the 4G model. These changes should include a dedicated playback widget, repositioned volume controls, and an optimized user interface.
Galaxy S20 FE 5G phones could also get improvements in apps like Calendar, Contacts, Messages, Phone, Reminders, Samsung Internet, and Samsung Keyboard. The update is also expected to bring digital well-being, parental controls and the December 2020 Android security patch to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone model and haven’t received an update notification yet, you can manually check it. Go to settings > System updates > Check for system updates > Download now> Install update.
