Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note9 series in China in November. Since then, the devices have started appearing in certifications from other countries which led us to believe in an impending global launch. Following this, the Note9 4G was launched with few modifications as the POCO M3 globally and as the Redmi 9 Power in India today (December 17th). Furthermore, several reports claim that the Redmi Note9 5G from China could also be launched as the Redmi Note 9T 5G globally. To ascertain this, the device has obtained the TÜV Rheinland certification.
As you can see below, a Redmi device with model number M2007J22G appears on the TÜV certification website. If you remember, the Thai NBTC certification revealed that M2007J22G belongs to Redmi Note 9T 5G some time ago. Additionally, two other model numbers M2007J22R, M2007J22C also appear alongside the device.
Previously, prior to the launch of the Redmi Note9 series in China, a device with a similar model number M2007J22C was listed on TENAA. This later turned out to be the Redmi Note9 5G with Dimensity 800U SoC. So looking at all of these, we can safely say that the M2007J22G is a global variant of the Redmi Note9 and has the Redmi Note 9T moniker. Also, let’s assume that the M2007J22R can only be a version for Russia (R – Russia).
Redmi Note 9T (Specifications)
Considering that the device shares model numbers with the Chinese variant, its specs should be the same unless Xiaomi decides to surprise us with last-minute changes. If so, the device is likely to have a 6.53-inch FHD + LCD display with a hole in the top left. Under the hood, it could be powered by a Dimensity 800U chipset coupled with LPPDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.
On the back, it should have a circular camera layout similar to China’s Note9 Pro 5G. However, it will likely only have three sensors: 48MP main, ultra-wide 8MP, and a 2MP sensor. Other expected specs are a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging, SA / NSA 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, MicroSD slot, and more.
In addition, the device has also achieved Malaysia’s SIRIM certification. Hence, the launch is expected to take place in several regions. We await the official teasers to find out more.
