President, Prime Minister Modi, ministers pay tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 96th birth anniversary

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday at Sadaiv Atal on his 96th birth anniversary. Union ministers were also present, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal, Sadaiv Atal, a memorial built near Rashtriya Smriti Sthal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will publish a book in Parliament on Friday entitled “Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Parliament: A Commemorative Volume” to honor him on his 96th birthday. Published by the secretariat of Lok Sabha, the book focuses on the life and works, including the important speeches of the former prime minister. The book also contains some rare photographs of the parliamentarian from his public life.

The book is expected to be released in a function in the Central Hall of Parliament on December 25, which is also celebrated as Good Government Day in honor of the winner of Bharat Ratna. It was also bestowed with Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant Award for Best Member of Parliament in 1994.

“As a parliamentarian and particularly as Prime Minister, Atalji has made countless contributions that have paved the way for a stronger economy through bold reforms and rapid infrastructure development. Atalji also distinguished himself as a good statesman and world leader, ”a statement from Lok Sabha said, ANI reported.
