The Himachal Pradesh Election Commission on Thursday issued a notification for the election of 50 urban bodies. This excludes the newly formed Mango, Chidgaon, Kandaghat, Nerva, Nirmand and Ani Nagar Panchayat elections. Candidates will be able to register their candidature for City Council / Nagar Panchayat elections on December 24, 26 and 28. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on December 29. December 31 is the day to withdraw nominations. The final list of candidates will be announced on this day.

The list of polling stations will be announced by December 24. Voting will take place on January 10, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the results will be announced shortly thereafter. The entire election process will be completed by January 12, 2021. A notification in this regard has been issued by Surjit Singh Rathore, Secretary, State Election Commission. The state’s model election code of conduct has been implemented since the announcement of the election.
