Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, the Odisha government said the Covid-19 vaccine will be provided free of charge to healthcare workers and other frontline workers in the state.

In the second phase, we asked the Center to vaccinate the municipality, electricity, drinking water and other state health workers “, said Health Minister Nabakishore Das.

Das said the vaccination campaign is likely to start in January next year.

“The central government plans to vaccinate nearly 30 million people during the first phase of vaccination. We are working according to the guidelines of the central government, “the minister said.

He said the government is ready to distribute and administer the vaccine to its warriors as a matter of priority.

The Center has published a detailed guideline for the Covid-19 vaccination campaign.

About 3.2 lakh people will be vaccinated in the first phase in Odisha after the launch of the Covid-19 vaccine in the country. 29,276 centers in the state were identified for vaccination.
