While hosting the reality TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan keeps sharing many funny stories. Something similar happened again during an episode of the show recently when Amitabh shared a case during the shooting of the film Sholay. Big B told how Dharmendra fired a real shot from a gun during the shooting of the film Sholay and Amitabh was able to shorten it.
Amitabh Bachchan was playing rollover contestant Preet Mohan Singh on Wednesday. Preet, who works for the CRPF in Hyderabad, works as a DIG. On the show, his wife Satwinder Kaur said that Preet is a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan and his film Sholay. Satwinder said that he definitely watches this film whenever it comes on TV.
Amitabh narrated the story of the shooting
After the conversation about the film, Amitabh Bachchan shared a story related to it from the set. Regarding the film released in 1975, Amitabh said that Dharmendra was very angry during the shooting as he had to take back many scenes for one scene. In the scene, he was removed from one of the boxes and had bullets in both his pockets. He did this scene two or three times but he could not recover. The enraged Dharmendra fired a real shot in anger that went through Amitabh’s ear.
Amitabh Bachchan was standing on top of the mountain during the shot. He said those pills are real and he simply avoided them. In the same episode, the rival also reminded about his film and said that he was only 10 years old when the film was released and he was very scared to see the character of Gabbar in this film. Preet said that as a child he always thought that Dharmendra should have kept a few more pills in his pocket so that he could save Amitabh.
