Kaagaz: Pankaj Tripathi to play the living man who was pronounced dead in Zee5 movie

Pankaj Tripathi will play a character inspired by Lal Bihari Mritak, a man who struggled to prove he was alive after being pronounced dead on the land records of Uttar Pradesh, in a new film titled Kaagaz. Directed by Satish Kaushik, it will be released on Zee5 on January 7th.

The satirical comedy, which will be a commentary on the imperfect system of the earth’s resources, will also star Monal Gajjar, Mita Vashisht, Amar Upadhyay and Satish Kaushik in key roles.

In a statement, Pankaj called Kaagaz a “brilliantly written” film. “It’s a weird, black comedy and it describes an ordinary man’s humorous journey through the identity crisis. My character will be very different from some of my recent adventures and I am thrilled to be part of such an inspiring story. This story needs to be heard and I’m sure Zee5 will give it the reach it deserves, ”he said.

Director Satish Kaushik, who also plays a pivotal role in Kaagaz, said: “I remember reading the story of Lal Bihari Mritak in the news for the first time, I was intrigued and inspired by his journey, so I did a lot of research on the events. happened in his life. In the end, it seemed to me that this story deserved to be told to the world. “

Lal Bihari Mritak fought a long and hard battle for nearly two decades to prove himself alive, after being pronounced dead on the records of the Uttar Pradesh government revenue department in 1976. He founded the Mritak Sangh after realizing that there is one. there were many others in the state facing a similar fate.

Kaagaz is presented by Salman Khan Films with Satish Kaushik Entertainment Production and produced by Salma Khan, Nishant Kaushik and Vikas Malu. In addition to an online release, the film will also be released in select theaters in Uttar Pradesh.
