Jug Jugg Jeeyo’s team, which includes Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, will return to Chandigarh to resume filming their film. The date set for the resumption of shooting would be December 19.
The cast and crew had been shooting for the film in town since early November. However, filming stopped on December 4 after Neetu, Varun and director Raj Mehta tested positive for the coronavirus. Now that they have all tested negative, the shoot is ready to resume.
According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, a source allegedly said: “All the places where the trio filmed were disinfected following the protocols established by the state government. The crew remained in solitary confinement and now that the trio has been released, the team will resume filming from December 19 in Chandigarh. “According to the report, the four actors – Varun, Kiara, Neetu and Anil – will leave for Chandigarh on December 18.
On Friday, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni gave an update on the health of his mother Neetu. Sharing a selfie of mother and daughter, Riddhima wrote: “Thank you for all your wishes and prayers – My mother tested negative for Covid @ neetu54 today”.
Just one day earlier, putting an end to all speculation, Neetu had confirmed that he had contracted the disease. She wrote on Instagram: “Earlier this week I tested positive for Covid-19. All security measures have been followed and I am grateful to the authorities for all their help and quick response. I am in self-quarantine, taking medication on the advice of my doctor and feeling better. I am so thankful for all your love and support! Please stay safe, wear a mask, keep a safe distance. Watch out.”

Varun also confirmed on social media that he had been diagnosed with the coronavirus and how he could have been more careful. He said: “So when I went back to work in the pandemic era, I contracted # covid_19 All the precautions were taken from the production but still nothing is certain in life, especially not covid-19. So please be very careful, I think I could have been more careful. I see healing messages soon and my mood is high taking each day at a time. thanks.”
It may be recalled that Anil and Kiara, while shooting with the rest of the team, tested negative for the virus. The film is a Karan Johar production.
