He said IKEA would invest Rs 10,500 crore in India and Rs 6,000 crore in Maharashtra in the next few years. He said that after Navi Mumbai store, two more IKEA stores in Mumbai will open in 2021.
To provide a safe shopping experience during the COVID-19 epidemic, it is taking a lot of precautions from Sikhs regarding its global operations and its Hyderabad operations.
The Navi Mumbai store will have two floors of parking with 2,000 cars and two floors with retail points. The Mumbai store will be somewhat larger than the Hyderabad store. It will also have a 1,000-seater restaurant.
It will show 7,000 articles, 50 separate rooms. “We are very excited for our new store as Mumbai is one of our major markets in India,” IKEA India told reporters. We are present online in Mumbai in early 2019 and soon many people in Mumbai will be able to shop at our fabulous IKEA store.
“We have set a short-term objective of making IKEA accessible to at least 100 million people in India by 2022,” he said. The way to reach 100 million people is to build a presence in three major cities – Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.
He said he would open a large store in these three places. All of our flagship stores across the country will be between 300,000 and 500,000 square feet. We will also launch city stores in these areas, ranging from 80,000 square feet to 100,000 square feet.
