CHANDIGARH: Having witnessed a rapid increase in Covid-19 cases in recent days, Haryana’s government announced several restrictions on controlling the spread on Thursday, including closing shops by 6pm and banning all meetings. not essential.
The restrictions will take effect on Friday, Interior and Health Minister Anil Vij said.
“All shops will be closed from 18:00 onwards in Haryana from tomorrow, all non-essential meetings are forbidden, anyone covering any function within the prescribed limit will have to ask permission from the SDM (Sub Divisional Magistrate) concerned,” said Vij in a tweet.

The state government had recently reduced the number of attendees to indoor events to 50 and that for open spaces to 200.
On April 21, Haryana recorded 9,623 new Covid-19 infections and 45 deaths, the state’s highest one-day peak in both cases and deaths so far.
