New Delhi: PUBG Mobile is expected to join Google’s release for India, experts say, ahead of the official launch of the battle royale game. A company official had stated that the battle royale game may not launch until March 2021. “PUBG’s efforts have been made in earnest, but the situation is such that there have been no headwinds or progress on the matter. We don’t see the game returning to India in the next few months, at least not before March 2021. It’s a shame, but everyone has to live with it, “a PUBG Corporation official said in an InsideSport report.

Govt denies launch clearance

Earlier last week, it was reported that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has not granted any permission for PUBG to launch. “MeitY does not grant permission to launch websites / mobile apps / services. As a result, MeitY has not granted permission to PUBG / PUBG mobile India,” the ministry said in a response to the RTI presented by MediaNama .

Additionally, a spokesperson for MeitY’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) confirmed that PUBG Mobile India has not received authorization to re-operate in India and PUBG’s registration of an India-based company named PUBG India does not necessarily mean nothing.
