Here’s all the news around Stamford Bridge in the past 24 hours.
Marcos Alonso to Atletico Madrid
Marcos Alonso has emerged as a goal for Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
The Chelsea defender has been fighting for playing time so far this season following Ben Chilwell’s arrival in the summer and is believed to be one of the players allowed to leave the transfer market in January.
Spanish television program El Chiringuito reported that a return to their homeland is planned with Atletico Madrid, the league leader of the La Liga, which offers a loan agreement for the full-back.
Additionally, the report says Inter boss Antonio Conte would be one of the coaches keen to sign Alonso in the winter, but Chelsea aren’t particularly keen on his defender going to Italy.

With this in mind, Chelsea scouts have been keeping a close eye on his progress and have reportedly held talks with his middlemen as they consider launching their own move for the midfielder.
Blues and Man United, however, aren’t the only Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Caicedo’s progress, with both Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United interested in him.

Chilwell provides the injury update
England international doubtful for Chelsea’s trip to Arsenal on Boxing Day due to ankle injury sustained in a 3-0 win over West Ham United on Monday night
Chilwell carried out a scan on Tuesday to determine the extent of his injury and Chelsea manager Frank Lampard provided an update on left-back – and Reece James – before the trip to Emirates Stadium.
That said, Chilwell was pretty optimistic about the injury.
Turning to social media after the Blues’ win over West Ham, the 24-year-old hoped the ankle problem wasn’t that bad.
“Let’s go back to the winning ways,” he wrote on Instagram. “Hopefully the injury isn’t that serious.”
The aforementioned post sparked a reaction from Tammy Abraham, who scored two goals against the Hammers, and responded with a four-word message of encouragement.
