Case Filed Against Saif Ali Khan For Observing Adipurush Will Make Raavan “Human” – Bollywood

Saif Ali Khan is in the hot water for his comment that his upcoming mythological epic Adipurush will make Raavan “human” and “justify” his kidnapping of Sita. A lawyer from Uttar Pradesh has filed a lawsuit against actor and director Om Raut for hurting religious feelings. Saif withdrew his statement and issued an apology after dealing with the backlash.

The plea will be heard by the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, IANS reports. December 23 was set as the date of the hearing.

Himanshu Srivastava, a civil court attorney, said in his petition that he is a Sanatan Dharma believer. He said traditionally, Lord Ram is considered a symbol of good, while Raavan is seen as evil.

Saif, who plays a Raavan-based character in Adipurush, said in an interview with Mumbai Mirror earlier this month: “It’s interesting to play a demon king, less critical in that. But we will make him human, by increasing the entertainment quotient, justifying his kidnapping of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off his nose. “However, after dealing with it. the backlash, he withdrew his statement.

Himanshu claimed that the interview was a negative representation of “faith in Sanatan Dharma”. He added that witnesses Vinod Srivastava, Ajit Singh, Brijesh Nishad, Nilesh Nishad, Surya Prakash Singh, and Vivek Tiwari also saw the online interview on December 9 and their religious feelings were also hurt.

Saif retracted his remarks after many, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Kadam, objected. In a statement, he said, “I was informed that one of my statements during an interview caused controversy and hurt people’s feelings. This was never my intention or intended that way. I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone and withdraw my statement. Lord Ram has always been the symbol of righteousness and heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the whole team is working together to present the epic without distortion. “
