Alleged Mi 11 box packaging leaked; it could jump the charger inside the box

Xiaomi Mi 11 is one of the most anticipated devices of 2021. Although the year was not born, the device is already confirmed for launch in the week of celebrations for the new year. Amid a flurry of leaks, a leak now suggests Xiaomi could follow in Apple’s footsteps and remove the included adapter.

Tipster Digital Chat Station posted a Weibo leak showing two packs of boxes. One of them is the iPhone which is supposed to belong to the recently launched iPhone 12 series. However, on the other it says “Xiaomi 11”.

This is a bit skeptical as the box doesn’t have the “Mi” prefix like its predecessors. Either way, the tipster says Xiaomi’s 2021 flagship box is as thin as the iPhone packaging. It also suggests that the box may lack an in-box adapter.

While replying to a user in the comments, he specifically says there won’t be a charger in the box. Assuming we already know about the iPhone 12s, it should be talking about the Mi 11 here. If we remember, Xiaomi, along with giants like Samsung, made fun of Apple for removing the charging adapter from the box.

However, the latest reports suggest the former is already ready to remove it from the box on its upcoming Galaxy S21. If today’s leak were true, Xiaomi would also join the bandwagon but we are waiting for the official news. Either way, this trend is a bit worrying as Android makers’ charging technology is way ahead of Apple’s counterpart.

And if they start excluding it from the box, people may have to pay them separately like iOS users. In the past, companies have followed Apple’s trend slightly despite teasing them earlier. Some of these include a notch display trend, unpacking the earbuds, and more.
