Describing himself as a follower of Sanatan Dharma, he said that Saif Ali Khan’s remarks had hurt his religious sentiments. He said that while King Shri Ram of Ayodhya is considered a symbol of good, Lankapati Ravana is seen as evil.

Talking about portraying Ravana from a ‘human point of view’, Saif Ali Khan claimed that Sita Haran would also be justified in ‘Adipurush’. He apologized after his statement was opposed. Advocate Himanshu Srivastava has claimed in his plea that Saif Ali Khan tried to portray faith in Sanatan Dharma in a negative way in his interview.

He has included many people as witnesses in his petition. He says these are the same people who watched the interview online and also hurt their religious feelings. When the controversy erupted, Saif Ali Khan seriously apologized for his statement and said that he had no such intention and withdrew his statement. He admitted that people’s feelings have been hurt.

The names of 6 witnesses have been presented in court against this statement given on December 6, 2020. Himanshu Srivastava is a resident of Jogiyapur mohalla in Jaunpur Nagar Kotwali area and works as an advocate in the civil court. The petition has been filed by Advocate Upendra Vikram Singh. A case has been registered against Section 156 (3) of the CRPC on the basis of this application. Under this, the magistrate has the right to direct the officer-in-charge of any police station to investigate any matter.
